This iconic brand was developed by Dr. Klaus Martens. He was an army doctor during World War II. When he was wounded in the ankle, ordinary army boots were very uncomfortable for him. Therefore, he designed custom footwear for himself. These boots were the model for the later famous Dr. Martens Boots. They were initially popular with police officers, postal workers and factory workers. Later in the 1970s, they became the favorite shoes of punks. To this day, the “Docs” remain immensely popular with many subcultures: from fashionistas to hipsters. In short, anyone who wants to be just that little bit different.
