Superga is a hill located on the southern bank of the Po River east of Turin in northwestern Italy. At 672 meters above sea level, it is one of the most prominent hills, forming a natural amphitheater around the city.
Superga is known among other things as the place where many members of the House of Savoy are buried; further for the Basilica of Superga and the Superga rack railway, opened on April 27, 1884, which connects it to Sassi, a suburb of Turin.
In 1949, the hill became world news because of the Superga air disaster, which killed almost the entire AC Torino soccer team.
Superga is also a well-known brand of sneakers from Turin.
The ascent of the Superga is the annual focal point of the Milan-Turin cycling race.
